Padel League Competition Rules
How Our Leagues Work
Padel League Competition Rules:
Match Structure
- Each player/team will face every other player/team twice during the season: home and away matches.
- Matches are played in a best-of-3 sets format, following standard padel scoring. Tiebreaks apply at 6-6 in each set.
Scoring System
- 3 points are awarded for a win.
- 1 point is awarded to both players/teams for playing the match, regardless of the result.
- No points are awarded for forfeits or cancellations without valid cause.
Scheduling Matches:
- Players/teams are responsible for coordinating match times and locations, ensuring both home and away matches are played.
- All matches must be completed by the season’s end date. Players are encouraged to plan ahead to avoid forfeits.
League Table:
- The league standings will be updated weekly, based on total points accumulated.
- In the case of tied points, the following tiebreakers will be used:
1. Head-to-head results.
2. Sets won vs. sets lost.
3. Games won vs. games lost.
Unplayed Matches:
- If a match cannot be scheduled by the season's end due to one player's unavailability, the opponent is awarded 3 points for the win. If both players are equally responsible for the match not being played, neither will receive points.
Forfeits:
- A player/team forfeiting a match without a valid reason will result in the opponent being awarded 3 points for the win.
- Repeated forfeits may result in removal from the league.
Fair Play & Conduct:
- Sportsmanship and respect are expected at all times.
- Any disputes or unsporting behavior will be reviewed by league organizers, who reserve the right to issue penalties, including point deductions or disqualification.
League Champions:
- At the end of the season, the player/team with the most points will be crowned the league champion.
- In case of tied points at the top, head-to-head results and other tiebreakers will apply.
